Media Producer
CV
Professional Summary
I began my journey in media studies back in 2015; I had an opportunity to voice act. This spun off into my love for radio. After three years of voice acting, I decided to attend an intensive week of training in creative audio. When I got there I took a different route of action than voice acting, however; instead, I jumped into audio production. Here is where I became the student leader for editing our radio drama. This here is my creative beginning along with my already love of music and the creation of songs.

After this, I preceded to go to school at Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY where I received an AS in Mass Communication and Media Arts with a Radio/Audio focus. I then proceeded to SUNY Fredonia where I attended for one semester going after a degree in Audio Production. I discovered that Fredonia wasn't the right fit for me and transferred over to SUNY Brockport where I am pursuing a degree in Journalism and Broadcasting with a Media Production focus. By doing this I was able to discover that I not only wanted to produce audio pieces but also visual ones, specifically documentaries.

I have written, acted, created, and produced many pieces over not only my four years in school but also some pieces in high school. These include audio dramas/podcasts, documentaries, written pieces for radio, scripts, and research, HTML websites (a personal and a business website), and many radio pieces used on-air as sweepers, liners, promos, and more. I also have done DJ work as well as co-ran radio station events.

Constantly I am looking to meet new people and experience new parts of my career. I have met many people who have helped guide me in my professional and personal life. My professors, especially Valerie Bello, Rachel Doktor, Carvin Eison, Christine Zinni, Virginia Orzel, Kim Young and other people I have worked with outside of school. Craig Schwarz who inspired me to record, sing, and follow whatever path is best for me even if it is the hardest; Rob Jorgenson who taught me how to work with Pro-Tools and inspired my love of Audio Dramas; Family Life Ministries who reminded me to stick with my gut and create what I think would help the world the most and who got me involved in media from the very start; Heather, a wonderful woman from a coffee shop who showed me that I could build my dreams from the ground up just like did so long as I worked hard and dreamed big; and last but certainly not least, my family who has had my back every step of the way.
I have learned so much valuable information over my years in and out of college and have been blessed by so many wonderful people in my life; so it's my turn to give back.

That's what media should be about; putting out what you're taking in.

Internships/College and Community Involvement
In the spring of 2021, I landed an internship at Bent Not Broken Podcast as an audio engineer intern. I created soundscapes and edited many audio pieces very meticulously to make the podcast ready for when they air their content. I extremely enjoyed the experience and learned so much about what it's like to do the work I went to school for in the "real" world. Bent Not Broken and their podcasts can be found here:

I have held many positions at my college and community stations and have been honored to be a part of each one. I began participating in my first college station in 2018 when I started as a DJ on the station The Music 90.7 FM WGCC. I held three shows during my time there. One was a solo show called Thursday Morning Encouragement that started from 7 and went until 9, the second was a group effort mid-day show called Monday Midday Madness, and the final show was a co-hosted morning show called the Odd Couple that went from 7-9. The moment I sat in that chair the very first time, I was nervous and yet so comfortable, as well as excited to experience this opportunity and ready to go! My journey didn't stop there, though. I continued to help plan and run events on campus through my college station. I co-ran the big station event, Play, Eat, Trick-or-Treat (PETOT) which included a couple of months of preparation, decorating, setting up a basket raffle, and promoting the event. I also brought the station to the school by setting up tables and playing music and doing karaoke nites. However, some of my favorite times at the station were creating production pieces to put on the station such as sweepers, liners, promos, station IDs, and more.

At my next station, 88.9 FM The Voice WDVL, I was on-air talent and participated in two shows, my solo show was called Monday Midday Encouragement and the second one was called Local Lo-Down where we interviewed artists in our station booth and had them discuss their music live as well as play it during the show. I also became a head station producer where I created station sweepers, liners, promos, and station IDs.

At 89.1 FM The Point WBSU, I was the Assistant Production Director and created events pieces as well as promos. I was a DJ in training by pre-recording mic breaks. I was supposed to go live on air at the end of March but the COVID-19 pandemic interfered with the situation.
As far as community involvement goes, I love my community. I am a musician and love to give my time to perform music. I would lead, play, and perform at churches and events. My videography is also extensively based in filming documentaries around amazing people. I have worked with Ganondagan National Historic Site, Expressive Ink (a tattoo parlor) and Healing Spirits (an apothecary) when creating documentaries. I also coached a bible quizzing team of six wonderful girls for a season, after I had bible quizzed for 5 years.

Over my course of time in high school and college, I received a few nominations and awards that I feel are worth mentioning.

In 2019, I was nominated for the RAFAS Tom Hope Memorial Media Scholar Program. I was one of five finalists and had a wonderful opportunity to meet some amazing media personnel including Don Alhart from 13 WHAM News.

In 2019, a radio station promo of mine was selected as a finalist at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Conference.

I was in the newspaper for performing at my local library and giving out a positive message to those who attended.

Education
2017-2019
Genesee Community College
I received an AS in Mass Communication and Media Arts with a Radio/Audio focus. I was a huge part of my radio station WGCC 90.7 FM where I did promotions, production and on-air DJ work. I wrote media, creative, and journalistic/research papers while there and also did podcasts, radio pieces, and video pieces; one being a documentary and the other a music video. I learned many platforms on Adobe Suite while here.
Fall 2019
SUNY Fredonia
I attended for one semester going after a degree in Audio Production. I felt the fit wasn't for me, but I still learned some valuable information while attending. I learned Pro-Tools and sound design to a larger extent and I bettered my skills in creative writing. I was part of WDVL 88.9 where I was a head producer for the station as well as a DJ. Here one of my production pieces was submitted to the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Systems Conference where I was a finalist in Best Station Promo category.
2020-2021
SUNY Brockport
Lastly, I attended SUNY Brockport where I received my bachelors degree in Journalism and Broadcasting with a Media Production focus. My minor was in Anthropology so that I could better my understanding of people and culture as well. By doing transferring to this school, I was able to discover that I not only wanted to produce audio pieces but also visual ones, specifically documentaries. I also have fallen head over heels for audio storytelling and podcasting. I have had the opportunity to work for an internship at Bent Not Broken Podcast and have taken an audio storytelling class where I have had the chance to thrive!

This class was a game-changer for me. The professor opened up so many new ideas to me including treatments, character bios, how to outline, and write scripts better. The most important thing, however, was that this teacher taught how to critique and be open to critique. I struggled with this for a long time, but after this class, I have learned to love critiques so much, in fact I look forward to them. They help you to see what you can't see in your own story and you get to better understand what to look for in your own work by critiquing others' pieces.

Work Experience
TMEC Weddings- Here is where I received my first official editing position. I edit on Adobe Premiere Pro and I create highlight videos, teasers and documentaries for weddings. The stories I tell are cohesive and vibrant as I want the bride and groom to relive their wedding day every time they watch these films. I am also the manager and sales representative for this east coast company. My work is all remote and my communication is all virtual.
Interests
Outside of my interests in Media Production, I have a love for music. Songwriting has been a part of my life since I was 15 years old and since then I have released an album called Let Go holding 8 original songs on the CD. The album was released in 2017. I also have a love of nature and being outside. Gardening, hiking, and just enjoying the beautiful outdoors is one of my favorite past times and is a big inspiration to me. Plus, I got to say, I love antiquing, cooking, spending time with my beautiful family and friends and experiencing new places and activities.
