Intelligence reports have come out showing China had indeed actively suppressed all information about the virus’s spread in Wuhan for weeks and the virus’s capabilities for moths longer. This whole pandemic could have been at least attempted to be stopped if the world knew. But China was likely wanting to make a vaccine for it to announce to the world for global political brownie points. The pandemic was unleashed by China and they did not tell the world until it was beyond their control. This should not surprise anyone who has been paying attention to China’s response throughout the pandemic. It seems that everyone’s paranoid thoughts about China have been lent credence.
Meanwhile in the U.S., things are slowing down, but not to the point where we can start reopening places. People are spilling to the streets, many armed, in capital cities demanding their states to be reopened. I feel like this will happen, now that the reality of the virus’s potency is made public: it is just like the flu, but we don’t have a vaccine for it yet. That is why it is such a problem. I am now of the opinion that we should reopen gradually and keep social distancing and personal protection equipment like gloves and masks on and ready. We are in too far to keep the doors closed.
