Monday. February 24. 1500 hrs.
Paige and I are starting to unpack and transcode all of our footage and pictures, making them usable for when editing together the actual video. At first I was concerned, as playing back the raw footage through VLC Media Player gave me terrible audio full of skips and breaks. At this point I was holding my breath, until I noticed the VLC application gave me an error code saying
the video codec was not recognized. This made me think that transcoding the videos to .MOV files would fix the audio issues.
It did. The footage was transcoded successfully and the snapshots were converted to .PSD documents instead of Canon’s .CR2 format.
Paige is in the process of setting up additional interview times through Dr. Zinni with other key players at Ganondagan. Meanwhile, I am getting the hang of shooting with the JVC. Once the next snowfall comes through, I will head back to the historical site and grab b-roll, maybe even land another impromptu interview with one of the historians on site. Friday and Saturday are my best bets.
